THESE OFFICE POLICIES ENSURE EVERY PATIENT RECEIVES THE HIGHEST STANDARD OF CARE— WHILE ALSO PROTECTING OUR TEAM AND PRACTICE.
RESPECTFUL CONDUCT
WE BELEIVE IN MUTUAL RESPECT. OUR TEAM STRIVES TO TREAT EVERY PATIENT WITH KINDNESS, PROFESSIONALISM AND COMPASSION. WE EXPECT PATIENTS DO THE SAME IN RETURN.
WE DO NOT TOLERATE:
— AGGRESSIVE OR ABUSIVE LANGUAGE (INCLUDING CURSING)
— DISRESPECTFUL BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS STAFF OR IN FRONT OF OR TOWARDS OTHER PATIENTS
— REPEATED APPOINTMENT DISRUPTIONS WITHOUT VALID CAUSE
— REPEATED APPOINTMENT CANCELLATIONS AND NO SHOWS (PATIENT FILE WILL BE SUBJECT TO DISMISSAL FROM PRACTICE)
PATIENTS WHO VIOLATE ANY OF THESE STANDS MAY BE DISMISSED FROM THE PRACTICE.
APPOINTMENT CANCELLATION & NO-SHOWS
WE UNDERSTAND LIFE HAPPENS— AND WHEN IT DOES— WE URGE OUR PATIENTS IMMEDIATELY CALL THE CLINIC (DON’T E-MAIL) SO THAT WE CAN BEST ACCOMODATE YOU.
LATE CANCELLATIONS AND MISSED APPOINTMENTS HAVE A NEGATIVE IMPACT ON THE PRACTICE AND PATIENTS NEEDING CARE.
NO-SHOW / LATE CANCELLATION FEE
UPON BOOKING, THE PATIENT UNDERSTANDS FAILING TO ATTEND THEIR APPOINTMENT, ARRIVING MORE THAN 20 MINUTES LATE, OR CANCELLING WITHOUT PROVIDING AT LEAST 48 HOURS’ NOTICE WILL RESULT IN A $75 DOLLAR MISSED APPOINTMENT FEE, SUBJECT TO OUR DISCRETION. THIS FEE WILL BE BILLED TO THEIR ACCOUNT.
HOWEVER— AT DENTISTRY ON STEELES— WE ALWAYS AIM TO BE FAIR AND FLEXIBLE— AND WE EXPECT THE SAME IN RETURN. ON OCCASION, APPOINTMENTS MAY RUN LATE OR MAY REQUIRE ADDITIONAL TIME, DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES INVOLVED IN A CASE.
WE APPRECIATE YOUR UNDERSTANDING IN ADVANCE SO THAT ALL PATIENTS CAN BE ACCOMODATED AND EMERGENCIES ARE MET WITH COMPASSION AND PATIENCE.
UPON BOOKING, PATIENTS ACKNOWLEDGE THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK A SECOND OPINION AT ANY TIME AND REQUEST COPIES OF THEIR DIGITAL X-RAYS WITHOUT INCURRING EXTRA FEES.
RUNNING LATE?
IF YOU’RE RUNNING LATE, GIVE US A CALL AS SOON AS YOU CAN. WE’LL DO OUR BEST TO STILL ACCOMODATE YOUR APPOINTMENT— BUT IF YOU ARRIVE TOO LATE TO COMPLETE YOUR TREATMENT, WE MAY HAVE TO RESCHEDULE YOU.

INSURANCE AND PAYMENT
WE WANT TO MAKE YOUR VISITS AS SEAMLESS AND HASSLE FREE AS POSSIBLE. AT DENTISTRY ON STEELES, WE ARE PLEASED TO OFFER DIRECT BILLING TO YOUR INSURANCE PROVIDER AS PART OF OUR COMMITTMENT TO MAKING DENTAL CARE MORE CONVENIENT FOR YOU.
HOWEVER, PATIENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY BALANCES NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE.
ANY CO-PAYMENT OR PORTION NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE IS DUE AT THE TIME OF YOUR APPOINTMENT.
AT YOUR REQUEST, WE WILL ALSO MANUALLY SUBMIT CLAIMS TO YOUR INSURANCE AND OBTAIN TREATMENT ESTIMATES FOR YOU, AT NOT COST TO YOU.

IT IS THE PATIENT’S RESPONSIBILITY TO KNOW THEIR INSURANCE PLAN AND UNDERSTAND THEIR COVERAGE AND YEARLY LIMITS.

THE REFUGEE DENTAL PROGRAM (IFHP)
WE ACCEPT THE REFUGEE DENTAL PROGRAM— ALSO KNOWN AS THE INTERIM FEDERAL HEALTH PROGRAM (IFHP)— FOR ELIGIBLE CANADIAN REFUGEES.
THE FREE SERVICES FOR REFUGEES INCLUDE EXAMS, X-RAYS, EXTRACTIONS AND EMERGENCY DENTAL CARE, WHILE ADDITIONAL REQUIRED SERVICES ARE SUBJECT TO PRE-AUTHORIZATION.
WE OFFER DISCOUNTS ON TREATMENTS NOT ALREADY ON THE PRE-APPROVED LIST OF SERVICES.

CANADIANS WHO QUALIFY MUST APPLY FIRST ONLINE AND THOSE WHO’VE ALREADY BEEN APPROVED FOR COVERAGE IN THE PAST, MUST RENEW THEIR COVERAGE ANNUALLY.
